Why I Can't Have Nice Things
So I just saw a commercial on TV with the Tom McRae song "A Day Like Today." Granted it was a really well done commercial for some car (the tag line was "beauty has its dark side"-fitting if you know Tom McRae’s music.) But of all the artists I like, Tom McRae was the last person I expected to sell his music to be in commercial. Perhaps he had no choice; his record label made him do it. But I doubt it. And I really like that song. Not that I won't now. But I have a reputation to maintain people! Oh who am I kidding, no I don't.
I just realized that I never posted anything about my new job on here. Well that just shows you how important it is to me, that is to say, not very. For the record, after temping at the same office at UCI for six months, the offered me a permanent career position as an assistant to the Institutional Review Board, Committee C. Sounds kinda weird, like I’m getting coffee and answering phones for ten people, but it’s not like that kind of assistant. I’d go into more detail but I doubt anyone’s interested, so moving on.
Ummm…ok, I guess I’m not moving on. Oh well. See y’all later. Or as they say in Topeka, “laterz”

I wish I was there. Things are real crap over here, Anthony. :-(
i want to hear the nitty gritty job details! if your job was porn, what would be the money shot?
lol @ caroline's question. i gotta remember that.
i was about to say "anyway," and it reminded me that mike told me that in one of ellen degeneres's old standup bits she'd say that when people say "anyway" on the phone it meant "go to hell." and i laughed 'cause that's at the END OF EVERY SHOW. every ep of her show ends with this ellen logo screen or whatever, where it shows only her legs, and as she's crossing them she says "aaanyway." she's telling everyone who watched her show to go to hell! the heck's up with that!
i was wondering the same thing about alanis recently. she had her new cd being sold at starbucks for like 2 months before any other stores carry it. and then i see her on these GAP "favorite song/favorite jeans" commercial. she's big enough she shouldn't need to be doing these things. but i guess she's nowhere near as big as she was circa *jagged little pill.*
and i want to know more about your job, too. your fans demand information, ant.
a starbucks across the street from another starbucks!

and people think that we're bad -- we're working in a starbucks kiosk inside a vons when, just three stores down from the vons in the same shopping center, there's a full starbucks store. i thought it was ridiculous, myself. but hell, they're paying me.
